Please help me support the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) by making a contribution to my team and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance IDF's great causes of educating, supporting, and providing research for myself and others inflicted with the rare conditions that are under the umbrella of Primary Immunodeficiencies!
Primary Immunodeficiencies (PI) are a group of over 450 different types of genetic conditions that either lack or have defective parts of the immune system. Mainly, we are deficient in healthy antibodies, or fail to make any at all. As a result, we are unable to effectively fight off infections such as COVID, and have an increased propensity for developing autoimmune diseases, as well as certain types of cancers.
In my case, PI has caused me to have continuous vertigo for 12 years as a result of having had inner ear infections that damaged the organs responsible for balance. I have not been able to drive, nor work in the last 14 years; and I use a walker for balance. I also have five autoimmune disorders, and this year was diagnosed with stage one invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. Post surgery, I am thankfully considered "without evidence of disease." However, I am still battling the effects of a nasty case of COVID which I contracted in May of this year. It is because of the IDF that I had learned how to treat it at home and was able to stay out of the hospital.
There are no known cures for PI, however, with your assistance and donation - together, you and I can make a difference! Thank you so very much for your contribution and support which helps to keep me out of the hospital! Debbie
