My Walk for PI: New Orleans 2020 Fundraising Page

After years of continuous sinus and respiratory infections, I was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Primary Immunodeficiency (PI). Primary immunodeficiency is a disorder in which part of the body's immune system is missing. About 1 in 500 people in the U.S. are born with various types of PI, which leads to the body's inability to fight off infections.

Currently, there is no cure for PI. Treatments for the disorder range from antibiotics to monthly infusions of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). Each month a nurse comes to my house for 4 to 5 hours to give me the IVIG infusions which consists of a sterilized solution made from human plasma and antibiotics. The treatments are not 100% effective, and the cost of the infusions can exceed $4000.00 per month. Many people, like myself, will be dependent on these infusions for the rest of our lives. I'm lucky enough to be able to receive the treatments at home. Many people have to go the infusion centers to get the treatments. Without health insurance, these treatments would not be possible.

Please help me support Immune Deficiency Foundation by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance Immune Deficiency Foundation's great cause!

Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too.Together, we can make a difference!
