Please help support the Immune Deficiency Foundation by making a contribution to our fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will advance Immune Deficiency Foundation's great cause!
Together, we can make a difference!
Last year, the aunt of a newborn baby saw the sign for the walk in the park and told the organizer that her nephew had "something wrong with his immune system" on his newborn screening before he left the hospital. They were going to Boston for a workup. Our organizer, Lois Crudden, became a champion for the family.
It turns out that he had severe combined immune deficiency -- essentially, his immune system was not able to protect him at all. He received a bone marrow transplant and is now coming up on his first birthday with a brand-new, working immune system!
Had it not been for the walk, the family would not have had the personal support we volunteers with IDF offer. We know that this is a very difficult year, but if you think of how that little boy's life was changed because of the research done on immune disorders in the midst of this pandemic, I hope you will be able to find a few dollars to help us help others. 100% of the money raised from the walks goes to patient support programs.
